Big East Bully Ball: Kim English Called Out Every Coach In America Who Is Trying To Tamper With His Players, Dares Them To Ask Him Personally
I love this tweet so much. I don't care if it's just a tweet, this is what we need from a Big East coach. I'll keep saying it. The Big East is a batshit crazy league, it's based on having fans who will go insane if need be. It's based on coaches hating each other. It's based on basketball. College basketball is better with the Big East acting like this. I don't care if it's Pitino and Hurley in a pissing match about where a game is being played. I don't care if it's Providence fans getting a Marquette compliance officer to put out a statement about how Tyler Kolek can in fact read. I don't care if it's Providence and Georgetown in a hell in a cell match. It's all perfect.
Now we have Kim English embracing Big East life and calling out every coach in America who is trying to tamper with his players. It's all based on this rumor:
Coaches tampering with players isn't new, but it's at an all-time high. I don't have a problem with the transfer portal but it needs to be changed. Don't open it until the Final Four or after the season. Give all these guys a one-time free transfer and then a free transfer if their coach leaves. I think that's the most fair way and everyone would mostly be fine with it. But because of the way it's set up, every coach is tampering with players. Trying to get guys to enter the portal and immediately come to their school. Shit, even Nick Saban admitted it.
But Kim English is going another way. You wanna tamper with his players? Fine. Just call him. He'll go ask them directly if they want to play for you. Don't call their parents or guardians or family members. Also putting this statement out a day before the portal closes is incredible. This is what I want from coaches in America right now. It's a war out there trying to get players, start publicly calling them out. My only wish is Kim used people by name here.
You know another way to do this, Kim? Do #TheInterview. It's time.
